Each year, the Woman’s History Coalition of Miami-Dade recognizes six women that have made major contributions to the South Florida communities.
To recognize the 2011 honorees, the Woman’s History Coalition of Miami-Dade is sponsoring an essay contest to provide one (1) woman student that plans to study government, civics, or social services with a $1,000 scholarship.
The essay contest rules are as follows:
o Student must be a part of the graduating class of 2011.
o Student must have made preparations to begin college in 2011.
o Student must be planning to major in government, civics, or social services.
o Student must have a 3.0 grade point average or higher.
o Student must complete the application (see attachment).
o All entries are due by 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2011.
o Students must submit a 300-500 word essay.
The Essay topic is “How I Envision Using My Education to Prepare for a Career to Help Women.”
