Winning essayists will receive awards up to $13,500.00. 1st place winner receives an all-expenses paid trip to Boston to receive their award. The nominating teacher of the 1st place winner will receive a $500.00 grant.

• Write an original and creative essay no less than 1,000 words that demonstrates an understanding of political courage as described by John F. Kennedy in Profiles in Courage
