The Nat Moore Foundation’s Urban Scholar Program

There is the availability of a $10,000 scholarship for graduating high school students through the Nat Moore Foundation’s Urban Scholarship Program.

The Nat Moore Foundation’s Urban Scholar Program awards 4-year, $10,000 scholarships ($2,500 per year for 4 years) to extraordinary high school seniors from South Florida. No restrictions are placed on the student’s choice of school or discipline of study. However, the student must come from a low-income or disadvantaged family and must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.

All interested high school seniors are encouraged to mail their completed application and accompanying documents by Sunday, May 1, 2011 to:

Recipients will be selected in July 2011, and payments will be made directly to the educational institution that the recipient chooses to attend. Since 1998, the Urban Scholarship Program has awarded 43 scholarships to recipients studying at colleges and universities across the United States.

The Nat Moore Foundation is devoted to providing educational, cultural and recreational activities to underserved youth, aged 5 to 18. The primary focus is the creation of a better community for young people in South Florida by providing safe, wholesome and positive learning environments where children and youth can build the tools and knowledge necessary for success.
