MITES (Minority Introduction to Engineering and Science) at MIT June 17, 2011 - July 30, 2011
MITES (Minority Introduction to Engineering and Science) is a rigorous six-week residential, academic enrichment summer program for promising high school juniors who are interested in studying and exploring careers in science and engineering.
All individuals who are selected must be US citizens or permanent residents, and must demonstrate bright promise of ability and interest in science, engineering and technology. Additionally, they must demonstrate that they would benefit from and contribute to the program. These factors are assessed based on all or some combination of grades, PSAT, SAT or ACT test scores, extracurricular activities, essays and letters of recommendation.

SAMS: The Summer Academy for Mathematics and Science at Carnegie Mellon University

The Summer Academy for Mathematics and Science is a rigorous residential summer experience for good students who have a strong interest in math and science and want to become excellent students. Students who are entering their junior or senior year and are considering careers in engineering, science and other math-based disciplines are eligible to apply. Students must be at least 15 years old to participate in this program. The program will focus on creating interest in technical disciplines and building academic and personal skills to better prepare you for the college application process. Deadline is April 1st, 2011.FREE! There will be no tuition, housing or dining fees for students selected to attend SAMS. Students will, however, be responsible for books, supplies, transportation and recreational expenses. Textbook costs vary from year to year. An estimate would be $150-$200.

2011 UF Young Entrepreneurs for Leadership & Sustainability Summer Program
June 26th -July 29th
This program is for motivated, college-bound high school sophomores and juniors who are interested in Entrepreneurship, Social Entrepreneurship, Leadership, and Sustainability. Applicants should be successfully pursuing a rigorous high school curriculum as demonstrated by their transcripts.

This fee covers tuition, books, housing in a student residence hall, an unlimited meal pass, field trips, community service, and most activities for the duration of the 5 week program. A $500 deposit is due two weeks following the notification of acceptance.
Full and Partial Scholarships are available to a limited number of students who demonstrate financial need and whose academic performance has been outstanding.

Boston University High School Honors Program

We consider academically motivated applicants who are entering their junior or senior year of high school in 2011. Qualified juniors need to be in Honors and/or AP courses to be considered. Admission is based on a combination of high school grades, courses taken, standardized test scores, personal statement, and two letters of recommendation. For high school students entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year in fall 2011, Summer Challenge is a perfect opportunity to explore existing interests, investigate new topics, take classes not offered in high school, and maybe even determine a college major. The two-week residential program offers a preview of college life, while non-credit coursework allows students to concentrate on a high level of learning and achievement alongside their peers, without focusing on grades.

For students entering their freshmen or sophomore year of high school in fall 2011, the one-week, non-credit, commuter Summer Preview Program provides an opportunity for students to explore an academic interest in-depth, investigate a subject they are curious about, as well as gain excellent preparation for the increasingly competitive college admission process. Summer Preview students enroll in one, non-credit seminar, choosing from two exciting subjects.
Each seminar is designed to be small and engage students in an intensive exploration of a specific topic through lectures, discussions, and individual and group work. Students also benefit from a college workshop that gets them thinking about what they can do in high school to maximize the effectiveness of their college applications.

The Community of Scholars program is a rigorous college-credit summer program designed for students entering their junior and senior years of high school. The Community of Scholars offers academically outstanding students the chance to broaden their understanding of international relations by enrolling in a three-credit college class designed just for them. Students admitted to this program will sample the undergraduate experience and take advantage of what the School of International Service (SIS) has to offer.
Program I- Three-week, non-residential, on-campus program—July 11-July 29, 2011: $2,480
Program II- Four-week hybrid program, combining learning online with a residential component—July 11-July 30, 2011, online learning; July 31-August 5, 2011, in residence on AU campus: $2,980
Program III- Four-week online learning program—July 11- August 5, 2011: $2,250
Campus housing is available only for one-week residential component of Program II. A limited number of home stays will be arranged for Program I. Out-of-town students are also encouraged to live with friends and family in the area and commute to campus.

United States Naval Academy Summer Seminar Sessions

The United States Naval Academy Summer Seminar is a fast-paced, six-day experience for high achievers who have completed their junior year in high school. The Summer Seminar teaches you about life at the Naval Academy, where academics, athletics, and professional training play equally important roles in developing our nation's leaders. If you think that you may be interested in pursuing an appointment to one of the nation's service academies and serving your country as an officer, you should seriously consider attending the Naval Academy's Summer Seminar.

Cornell University Summer College offers a wide variety of programs to meet your interests and scheduling needs. Depending upon whether you are a sophomore, junior, or senior in high school, you can attend Cornell for one-, three-, four-, or six-weeks, earn an average of three to six credits, and concentrate on college courses in fourteen different areas and many subjects.

The Penn Summer High School Programs are designed for academically qualified high school students currently in 9th, 10th or 11th grade. Students in 9th grade may be considered based on their academic record.

Summer Science Program for High School Women
No dates scheduled yet USC Summer Programs extends this tradition of excellence to outstanding high school and middle school students through 4 – 2 – 1 week course options. 4-Week and 2-Week courses offer high school students a preview of “freshman year” through a variety of college subjects, and the 1-Week Exploration on Catalina Island provides high school women and middle school girls the opportunity to learn marine science in the field at the USC Wrigley Institute for Environmental Studies.

Courses vary from 3 to 9 weeks. The program begins on Sunday, June 19, 2011.
